The Center for Teaching and Research in Writing (CTRW) will hold an open house on Thursday, October 20th, from 3 to 5 pm in 6191 Helen C. White Hall.
The CTRW, launched this past summer, serves as a research hub for faculty, staff, and graduate students who are interested in the research that serves as the foundation for best practices in the teaching of writing. Its aim is to attract affiliate members from across the university who want to work with new colleagues, learn about the teaching of writing from diverse disciplinary perspectives, and support already-existing and new initiatives that foster a culture of writing on campus. For more information email us at ctrw@english.wisc.edu.
The open house is an opportunity to meet colleagues from across the university, to learn about the CTRW and the opportunities it affords, network with colleagues and those involved in the campus’s writing programs, discover potential funding sources and resources, and/or find professional development opportunities. And, of course, to enjoy food and drink in the middle of what is sure to be a busy semester.
Please mark your calendars and come on October the 20th, the National Council of Teachers of English’s National Day on Writing.
