The CTRW, in collaboration with the Center for Communication and Civic Renewal, will host panelists Allison Prasch, Jeremy Stoddard, and Amber Wichowshy in a panel discussing how, in their teaching, writing serves as deliberative—how panelists understand and deploy writing in their classes to enact the idea of civic deliberation and to push back against more insidious forms of communication. Panelists will also discuss how writing praxis functions in the context of their broader work.

Allison Prasch is the Nancy Obin Sukenik Professor and Associate Professor of Rhetoric, Politics, and Culture in the Department of Communication Arts. Prasch also serves as President of the American Society for the History of Rhetoric. She holds a PhD in Communication Studies from the University of Minnesota.  

Jeremy Stoddard is Professor of Curriculum & Instruction and a researcher in the Wisconsin Center for Education Research. He holds a PhD Social Studies Education from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Amber Wichowsky is an Associate Professor of Public Affairs and holds the Leadership Wisconsin Endowed Chair for the Division of Extension. Wichowsky holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
