STEM Education Organizational Postdoctoral Research Fellowships (STEM Ed OPRF)

STEM Ed OPRF awards provide support to organizations as they develop a STEM education postdoctoral research fellowship project and support a cohort of fellows. The program should enable fellows to engage in ongoing research, to develop independent research, and to implement an independent professional development plan under the guidance of a sponsoring researcher. Fellows are expected to devote themselves full time to the fellowship activities for the duration of the fellowship.

AERA Education Research Conferences Program
American Educational Research Association (AERA)
The program provides up to $35,000 to support conferences intended to break new ground in substantive areas of inquiry, stimulate new lines of study on issues that have been largely unexplored, or develop innovative research methods or techniques that can contribute more generally to education research. Conferences may focus on conceptual, empirical, or methodological issues important to understanding the state of the knowledge and charting directions for future research. Proposed convenings should draw upon diverse disciplines and fields of inquiry where there is relevant scientific and scholarly expertise. Conferences funded through this initiative are typically 2–3 days long and should generally take place within approximately 12 months after the funding decision is made.

*UW Internal Competition* – John E. Sawyer Seminars on Comparative Study of Cultures 2023
Andrew W. Mellon Foundation
The Foundation invited UW–Madison to submit one proposal for this grant (up to $225,000). The Sawyer Seminars provide support for comparative research on historical and contemporary topics of major scholarly significance by bringing together faculty, foreign visitors, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students from a variety of fields mainly, but not exclusively, in the arts, humanities, and interpretive social sciences, for intensive study of subjects chosen by the participants.
